Calvaria Chapel in Baia Sprie was built in 1848 on the root of the Mine Hill and it is characterized by a round shape altar, designed by Albin Tischler an year before. The Calvaria Chapel is a historical monument.
Every year, the Roman Catholic believers in Baia Sprie take part to the Holy Mass before Easter and worship the 14 icons painted on the exterior walls of the chapel in order to mark “The Way of the Cross”. A great number of believers gather here in September when they celebrate the patron saint of the church.
