VLAICU`S ROCK

Vlaicu’s Rock (also known as Vlaicu’s Church) is a triangular andesite narrow rock located at over 800 meters altitude, about 13 km from Baia Sprie and just 150 meters from the DN18 road (Gutâi Pass). This site is well known among local hikers for its scenic viewpoint, which offers a beautiful panorama over Mogosa Mountain and the Baia Mare Depression. It is also a beloved spot for climbers, thanks to the 16 climbing routes that can be found here.

The routes are in the intermediate category, with difficulty grades ranging from 5+ to 7+, making them very suitable for beginners as well as more experienced climbers.
